Fifteen minutes into Mother’s Day. I’m still up writing this letter, and taking care of some other stuff for tomorrow/today.

This is my good friend Uzair. He’s just recently made a tumblr, and his blog holds the spot as my current favorite.

He’s an unapologetic liberal writer, hilarious without being pretentious; an excellent photographer, by the standards of AP Photo rather than Instragram; a model American student, despite being a Pakistani British citizen; and quite possibly the most intellectual young man I know.

He was also Mr. November in this year’s Mr. Matador pageant, and his beard is pure testosterone.

Definitely worth a follow. Check him out.

Bruin Life Weekend presented by the Pilipino Recruitment and Enrichment Program, took place from April 12-15, bringing newly admitted UCLA students to UCLA. With our coordinators Joy Diwa & Noel Ople, this program seeks to show students everything that UCLA has to offer and answer their questions about the university, programs, services and organization through a true Bruin experience!

This is the closing video shown at the end of the program, met with much praise and applause during their goodbyes. Got to spend Thursday onwards at UCLA as part of the Pilipino Recruitment Enrichment Program’s Bruin Life Weekend. Living in the dorms and sitting in classes was cool, Bruin Day on Saturday was super fun, and the dorm food was absolutely amazing. But by far. the best part was meeting so many like-minded people. In high school, they were all the same type of kid- super involved, talented, straight-A students. But unlike so many of those kids in high school, they balance that with a fulfilling social life.

Work hard, play hard. That’s the ideal environment, I think.

Shout out to PREP for organizing a great weekend for us, and Mikey and James for being the best hosts out there. Very strong possibility that I’ll see you guys in the fall.

I’ve been spending way too much time on social networking lately, so my resolution for Lent is to cut down drastically on my Facebook and Tumblr time.

I deleted the Facebook and Tumblr apps from my phone, and with the exception of 4 Facebook posts that I’m allotting in case I need to advertise school events as part of ASB, I’m going to try not to log on to either of those two sites on my computer.

So, if anyone sees me post something on any of my blogs, or if I like or reply to one of your posts, I encourage you to chastise me severely.

Wish me luck, see you all in 40 days.
